On February 16, 2021, the deadline for submitting projects to opt for the Decide Awards 2020, endowed this year with a total budget of 3,800€. The objective of this first edition has been to recognize the best proposals and initiatives carried out during the period 2019 and 2020, in the field of nursing care for chronic patients in the context of a pandemic, in primary care and integrated care that have contributed innovation in the area promoting nursing leadership.
A total of 31 national Spanish applications were received and evaluated.

- Accessit for Nursing Professionals – Best proposal with results: Elena López and her team, for ‘Seguimiento proactivo de Enfermería a PCC en un equipo semirural en tiempos de COVID’.
- Award for Nursing Professionals – Award for the most innovative initiative in professionals: Silvia Cilleruelo and her team, for ‘Ejercicio terapéutico en EPOC’.
- Accessit for Nursing Professionals – Award for the most innovative initiative in professionals: Isabel García and her team, for ‘Lideratge i homogeneïtzació en l’abordatge a la cronicitat’.
Awarded projects:
The prize for the Nursing Degree Students in the most innovative Proposal was declared void, as no project presented was adjusted to the bases of the call.
The award ceremony will be held in webinar format and will also include the participation of Dr José Ramón Martínez Riera, President of the Spanish Community Nursing Association, and a presentation by Dr Cristina Rey Reñones, a nurse from the nursing unit. research support and coordinator of the Information and Communication Technologies in Primary Care Research Group of the IDIAP Jordi Gol.
